Job summary

Specialist Send Group is looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school. This role works with learners aged KS3-4 with a range of SEND, supporting them academically and personally as they prepare for adulthood.

As a SEND Teacher you will plan and deliver differentiated lessons, support learners with ASC, ADHD, MLD/SLD and SEMH, and work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents, and the wider team to monitor progress and promote independence and

  • Experience teaching learners with SEND in school or specialist provision.
  • Patient, compassionate and flexible approach.
  • Able to adapt lessons for a wide range of abilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with learners and families.

Responsibilities

  • Create inclusive, nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with TAs, therapists, parents and multi-disciplinary team.

  • Maintain safeguarding and wellbeing standards.

Job description

Specialist Send Group is looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school This is an exciting opportunity to work with learners aged KS3-4 with a range of additional needs, supporting them both academically and personally as they prepare for adulthood.

This role would suit a teacher who is committed to delivering engaging, personalised learning and believes every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support learners with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), communication needs, and SEMH.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where learners feel safe, valued, and motivated.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents/carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor learner progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure every learner can succeed.
  • Promote independence, confidence, communication, and life skills alongside academic achievement.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessments, and personalised learning plans.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing for all learners.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching learners with SEND (school, specialist provision, or alternative provision).
  • Has a patient, compassionate, and flexible approach.
  • Is confident adapting lessons to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Builds strong, positive relationships with learners, families, and colleagues.
  • Has excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills.
  • Is committed to helping every learner achieve their potential.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
