Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND setting in the Uxbridge area that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. Start ASAP, full-time, long-term contract, with a competitive daily rate dependent on experience.

As a SEND Teacher you will plan and deliver creative, highly differentiated lessons for pupils with ASC and SLD, support a range of communication and sensory needs, collaborate with Teaching Assistants and other professionals, follow EHCP

Qualifications

• Patience and creativity to deliver differentiated lessons.
• Experience teaching ASC/SLD or SEND required.
• Strong knowledge of SEND and behaviour management.
• Ability to support non-verbal and sensory needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Support pupils with ASC, SLD and complex learning needs.
• Work with Teaching Assistants and other professionals within the classroom.
• Use communication strategies to engage pupils, including non-verbal learners.
• Follow EHCP targets and support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Create a calm, structured classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour positively and consistently.

SEND Teacher - ASC & SLD

Location: Uxbridge, West London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

Are you an experienced SEND Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)?

Do you have the patience, creativity and adaptability to deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of communication, sensory and learning needs?

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND setting in the Uxbridge area that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.

The role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver creative, highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
• Support pupils with ASC, SLD and complex learning needs
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals within the classroom
• Use a range of communication strategies to engage pupils, including non-verbal learners
• Follow individual EHCP targets and contribute towards pupils' academic, social and emotional development
• Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
• Manage behaviour positively and consistently

The ideal SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS or a relevant teaching qualification
• Previous experience teaching pupils with ASC and/or SLD
• Strong knowledge of SEND and differentiated teaching
• Experience supporting pupils with communication and sensory needs
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
