Job summary

TeacherActive's SEND school in Harlow is seeking a passionate SEND Teacher with QTS to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND. You will work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to create a safe, stimulating learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential.

You will deliver personalised lessons, differentiate content, and support academic, social, and communication development.

Qualifications

  • QTS required and essential.
  • Experience in SEND in a school or specialist setting.
  • Experience with PMLD and/or Autism desirable.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management.
  • Patient, compassionate and resilient.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and differentiated strategies advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Differentiate learning to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and other professionals.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.

Location: Harlow, Essex
Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming and well-resourced SEND school in Harlow that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join their committed team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who has experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and is passionate about delivering creative, personalised learning. Experience supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs would be highly desirable.

About the Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional needs, including PMLD, Autism (ASC), and complex learning difficulties. You will work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential.

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Essential.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND in a school or specialist setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with PMLD and/or Autism (ASC) is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs reach their full potential.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and differentiated teaching strategies would be advantageous.
