Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking an SEND Teacher to join our partner SEND schools and alternative provisions. You will teach children aged 5 to 16 with a range of needs, delivering engaging lessons and adapting plans to ensure continuity of learning.

Role offers daily rates £130–£155 depending on experience and qualifications, with options for full- or part-time supply positions. Start date is as soon as possible, with ongoing opportunities across partner settings.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching children with SEND across ages 5–16.
  • Specialist subject experience in Maths and/or English is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach SEND students aged 5–16 in a school or alternative provision.
  • Deliver inspiring, differentiated lessons and manage behaviour.
  • Plan and deliver lessons, assess progress, and communicate with parents/carers.

The School and Role

Working in SEND schools and alternative provisions teaching children aged 5 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities. Opportunities for specialised subjects and general cover working on a supply basis. You will be part of a team who will engage the children in the absence of their teacher to ensure that they do not miss out on their education and the school or alternative provision runs smoothly. As a SEND Teacher you will work, day to day, short-term, long-term with the option for full and part-time positions.

The specialist schools and provisions cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. With brilliant facilities, resources and a staff team who pride themselves on their child-centred approach to raise engagement on daily basis. Most schools and provisions have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism - Ideally Maths and/or English.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to: MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs.
  • Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA's
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
