Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a SEND Teacher in Melksham to deliver lessons and support students with a range of needs. The role runs full time, Monday to Friday, with a temporary-to-permanent path.

You will have UK QTS, experience with SEND, and ideally Maths/English specialisms; Team Teach training is a plus. The position involves safeguarding and delivering engaging learning in a Good SEND provision.

Qualifications

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism - Ideally Maths and/or English.
  • Experience working with children with SEND including SEMH/ASD/MLD/SEBD.
  • Team Teach training or willingness to undertake.

  • Support the class in the delivery of lessons and provide guidance to students.
  • Work with students with various learning needs, ensuring consistency.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe learning environment.

About the role

SEND Teacher

Full Time - Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 15:30pm (Temporary, to permanent full time)

Melksham

Pay to scale - £175 - £325 Per Day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: UK QTS and experience working with students with special educational needs and behaviours that challenge.

Contract Dates: - Monday 28th September 2026 - Flexible start dates available

The role

As a SEND Teacher, you will be required to support the class in the delivery of lessons, whilst also providing support and guidance to the students in their variety of learning needs.

Working with students with special educational needs is an extremely rewarding environment to work in, however it can be challenging getting to know the needs of students and therefore this role benefits from consistency and continuity.

Ideally for this role you will have had experience working with Social, emotional and mental health needs of children or young adults, ASD, ADHA, MLD and Emotional behaviours difficulties.

The School

Based in an Ofsted rated 'Good' SEND provision in the Melksham area, the school caters for needs including but not limited to SEMH, ASC, ADHD, MLD and EBD.

The school caters for children in primary years all the way through to secondary (KS1 - KS5). This particular role will be based in a secondary aged classroom.

Requirements

To be considered for the position of SEND Teacher, you will need to:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism - Ideally Maths and/or English.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to, MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs
  • Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA's
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained or willing to undertake a course free of charge through us.
