Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1-2-1 support to a male student at a specialist school in Birmingham.

You should have a Level 3 qualification or a relevant degree and proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour. You will work closely with the student, classroom staff and wider team to help him access learning and stay engaged throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Previous Teaching Assistant experience is essential.
• Must hold Level 3 qualification or degree.
• Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant support.
• Supporting the student to access lessons and engage with learning.
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
• Supporting behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Helping the student overcome barriers to learning.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Following safeguarding, behaviour and pupil welfare procedures.
