Job summary

Smile Education are seeking a Male SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in a Birmingham school (B24). You will help the pupil access learning, build a trusting relationship and support social, emotional and academic development.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children or young people, SEN and 1:1 support, and be reliable, proactive and patient. This role offers long‑term opportunities and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience with SEN and 1:1 pupil support.
• Proactive, reliable and professional with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil to access learning and participate in classroom activities.
• Follow individual support plans and strategies to meet the pupil's needs.
• Monitor and communicate progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
