Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Birmingham. You will support pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning through classroom, small-group and 1-1 assistance.

Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals, you will adapt resources, promote positive behaviour and build confidence and independence, making a genuine difference to each pupil’s day-to-day development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a specialist setting.
• Patience, empathy and strong communication to engage learners.
• Commitment to inclusive education and pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND across the school day.
• Work 1-2-1 and in small groups as required.
• Help pupils access learning and classroom activities.
• Assist development of communication, confidence and independence.
• Support pupils with individual targets and behaviour management.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEND professionals to meet needs.
• Adapt approaches to meet individual learning requirements.
• Contribute to a calm, safe learning environment.
