Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-2-1 support for KS4 students with SEMH needs at a South Birmingham school. The role involves helping students access learning, managing behaviour, and staying engaged throughout the day.

The ideal candidate has prior Teaching Assistant experience with SEMH and can remain calm, patient and resilient while building positive relationships with pupils and staff. DBS checks and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting KS4 students with SEMH needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient with confidence to manage challenging situations.
• Experience providing 1-2-1 support and building positive relationships.
• Ability to work closely with teachers and pastoral teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-2-1 teaching assistant support to KS4 students.
• Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Help students access lessons and engage with learning.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Support behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Work with teachers and the wider pastoral team.
