The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Birmingham. You will work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to help pupils access learning and to develop confidence and independence.

You will provide targeted support, often one-to-one or in small groups, and adapt your approach to meet individual needs. The role focuses on creating a safe, positive learning environment and contributing to pupils' day-to-day success.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND is essential.
  • Experience in a special school or SEND provision is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to pupil development and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND across the school day.
  • Work 1-2-1 and in small groups to support learning.
  • Help pupils access learning and classroom activities.
  • Support communication, confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils with learning targets and development plans.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Assist with behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEND professionals.
  • Adapt approaches to individual needs.
  • Contribute to a safe, calm learning environment.
