Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant to join a mainstream primary in Nuneaton from September. This full-time role offers an immediate start and involves 1:1 and small-group support to SEND pupils, aligned to the UK Primary curriculum.

You will work with the class teacher and SENCO, adapt activities for individual needs and deliver interventions in phonics, reading, writing, numeracy and communication.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Experience delivering 1:1 or alternative provision is advantageous.
• Familiarity with UK Primary curriculum and SEN needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to SEND pupils.
• Work with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning.
• Adapt activities to each pupil's needs and provide appropriate assistance.
• Deliver or support targeted interventions across phonics, reading, writing, numeracy and communication.
• Support pupils with autism/ADHD/SEMH and speech/language needs.
• Promote pupil independence, confidence and self-esteem.
• Maintain safeguarding and confidentiality; follow school policies.
