Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced SEN Primary Classroom Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school from September. You will work 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils access learning and develop confidence.

You will support children with SEN including ASC, ADHD, and SLCN, adapting activities, promoting positive behaviour, and liaising with teachers and SENCOs. Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
• Patient, proactive, and caring approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children to succeed.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
• Support pupils' communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
