Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking committed SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs across Derby and surrounding areas. This flexible supply role offers day-to-day, short-term and temporary opportunities, allowing you to choose roles that fit your availability while gaining diverse classroom experience.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt activities to individual needs, and work closely with teachers and SENCOs to promote inclusion and positive learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in educational settings.
• Patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Ability to adapt activities to individual pupil needs.
• Strong communication with pupils, teachers and SENCOs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse needs.
• Assist children with Autism, ADHD, language and social challenges.
• Adapt activities to individual abilities to encourage learning.
• Support pupil social, emotional development and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
