Job summary

Envision Education in Enfield is seeking a SEND Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school on a full-time basis. You will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning programs.

The role emphasises creating a safe, nurturing classroom, encouraging pupil independence and positive social interactions, with opportunities to grow within a supportive education team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months' experience working with children or young people in the UK.
• Previous experience as SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, resilient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service desirable (we can assist).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and active participation.
• Support pupils with learning activities, personal development and social interactions.
• Work with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised learning programmes.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
