Randstad Education is seeking SEND Learning Support Assistants to join supportive secondary departments in Witham.

Witham is a thriving town with a strong educational community. We are looking for individuals who can provide a steady, supportive presence for students with Special Educational Needs, helping them navigate the academic and social challenges of secondary school life.

The Role
  • Inclusive Support: Work alongside class teachers to support students with ASD, ADHD, or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in a mainstream setting.
  • Empowering Learners: Use creative strategies to help students engage with subjects like English and Maths, fostering independence.
  • Nurturing Environment: Provide emotional support and de-escalation for students who may struggle with the sensory demands of a busy school day.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend weekly briefings with the SENCO and teaching staff to ensure student EHCP targets are being met.
The Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., in schools, care settings, or community groups).
  • Skills: Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential to help students access the curriculum.
  • Character: A patient, proactive, and resilient personality with a genuine desire to help others.
  • DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to process a new one).
  • Accessibility: Witham is exceptionally well-connected; this role is ideal for those using the A12 or the Greater Anglia rail line.
