Job summary

Acre Rigg Infant School in Peterlee is seeking a committed SENCO with senior management experience to join our team. The role involves strategic development of SEN policy and its day-to-day operation, coordinating support for pupils with SEN or a disability, and providing professional guidance to staff, parents, and external agencies.

The post requires meeting the Teacher pay and conditions as a teacher, with 4 days per week (3 days non-contact).

SENCO- 4 days per week - 3 days non contact time, 1 day teaching.

Required to start as soon as possible.

The Governors seek to appoint a committed, experienced and enthusiastic SENCO with senior management experience.

The SENCO, under the direction of the headteacher, will:

• determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school;
• be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability;
• provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
• The SENCO will be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document.
