Job summary

Supply Desk is working with a well-established SEN secondary provision in Aylesbury to recruit an experienced SENCO for a full-time, permanent role with an immediate start. The post leads SEND provision, EHCP processes and collaboration with families and professionals to improve outcomes.

The successful candidate will hold QTS/QTLS (or equivalent), NASENCO or willingness to complete, and proven SEND leadership experience. Salary ranges from £45,000 to £58,000 with ongoing CPD and progression.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete the qualification.
  • Proven experience working within SEND education.
  • Previous SENCO, SEND Leadership or Inclusion Leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of EHCP processes and SEND legislation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multi-agency teams.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school.
  • Coordinate and oversee EHCP implementation, monitoring and annual reviews.
  • Work closely with students, families, staff and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Provide SEND guidance, coaching and professional development to teaching and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in developing an inclusive school culture.
  • Manage relationships with Local Authorities and external agencies.
  • Develop personalised support strategies for students with complex needs.

Our agency is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established SEN Secondary Provision in Aylesbury that is seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join their leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis with an immediate start available.

This specialist setting supports students aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication and interaction difficulties. The school is committed to delivering high-quality, personalised education that enables every student to achieve their potential.

As SENCO, you will lead the strategic and operational development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring that all students receive the support, interventions and opportunities they need to succeed.
