Job summary

We Manage Jobs(WMJobs) are looking for a SENCO or aspiring SENCO to join our school on a permanent basis from January 2027. The role carries Main Pay Scale 1-6 plus TLR2A and includes approximately 50% non-class-based time with teaching responsibilities.

You will join our Senior Management Team to champion inclusive practice across the school, working closely with the SLT, teachers and support staff. A living Christian ethos is welcomed and visits to the school can be arranged.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development of the school's SEND policy and provision.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy.
  • Coordinate provision and targeted interventions for pupils with additional needs, monitoring impact with data.
  • Oversee EHCP applications, statutory reviews and annual reviews.
  • Provide professional guidance and staff training on adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.

You will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team, teachers, and support staff to champion inclusive practice across the whole school.

The role will include a teaching responsibility and approximately 50% non-class-based time. You will also be joining our Senior Management Team.

You will need to be:
  • An excellent classroom practitioner.
  • Able to support and promote our Christian ethos.
  • A team player, committed to making a positive contribution to the whole school.
  • Resilient and emotionally intelligent.
  • A highly effective communicator who can build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, colleagues, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic development of the school's SEND policy and provision.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy.
  • Coordinate provision and targeted interventions for pupils with additional needs, monitoring their impact through effective use of data.
  • Oversee Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications, statutory reviews, and annual review processes.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues and deliver training to staff on effective adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with parents, carers, and external multi-agency professionals.

You may be an experienced SENCO, or you may be willing to undertake the NPQ for SENCOs.
