SEN Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching sut is working with a lovely SEN School based in the Southampton area that is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to provide care and academic support to their pupils.

The School, graded as "Outstanding" by Ofsted, offers education to pupils aged 2‑19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (P nivell). Pupils may be non‑verbal and require personal care and 1:1 or small group support.

Your role will include supporting pupils in accessing a highly individualized curriculum, assisting with personal care and mobility, implementing physiotherapy and communication plans, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. You will also assist class interacts in preparing resources and delivering engaging, multisensory activities suited to each pupil's developmental level.

You will be expected to uphold school policies, work as part of a dedicated team, and maintain confidentiality at all times due to the sensitive nature of the role.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young adults with PMLD, medical needs, or complex disabilities (desirable)
• Personal care experience is advantageous
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references
