Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH, ADHD and ASD in a flexible day-to-day setting. You will deliver 1:1 and small group support, de-escalate challenging behaviour with trauma-informed practices, and help learners build confidence and social skills.

You will adapt learning materials to meet EHCP targets and sensory needs while fostering a safe, inclusive classroom environment in a supportive school context.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, or complex needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, patient approach.
• High emotional intelligence and ability to build rapport with vulnerable learners.
• Adaptability to work in different classroom settings on a day‑to‑day basis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support to re-engage students.
• De-escalate challenging behaviour using restorative, trauma-informed practices.
• Help students build confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills.
• Adapt learning materials to suit EHCP targets and sensory needs.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
