Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with SEMH/ASD in a flexible, day-to-day role within our partnered schools across the UK. You will work 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, term-time, delivering targeted support to re-engage learners and help them overcome barriers to learning.

The role requires experience with SEMH, ADHD, ASD or complex needs, strong behaviour management, and the ability to adapt to different classroom settings on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient, non-judgemental approach with strong behaviour management.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build rapport quickly with vulnerable learners.
  • Adaptability to step into different classroom settings on a day-to-day basis.
  • Genuine passion for making a positive impact on young people's lives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support to re-engage students with their learning.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviour using restorative, trauma-informed practices.
  • Help students build confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills.
  • Adapt learning materials to suit individual EHCP targets and sensory needs.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
