SEN Teaching Assistant - Acton Immediate Start or January 2026 Long-Term Full-Time 1:1 Support for Child in Year 3 (ASD)

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, well-supported primary school in Acton. The role is to work 1:1 with a Year 3 child with ASD, providing structured support, consistency and emotional regulation throughout the school day. This is a long-term role, starting ASAP or January 2026, with the expectation of continuing for the rest of the academic year.

The Role
  • Working 1:1 with a child in Year 3 with ASD
  • Supporting learning in class and adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Helping with emotional regulation, transitions and sensory needs
  • Liaising with the SENCO, class teacher and external professionals
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and daily progress notes
  • Full-time Monday-Friday
Requirements
  • Significant SEN experience, particularly with ASD
  • Ability to implement strategies such as visual timetables, chunked instructions, sensory breaks and reward systems
  • Confident supporting learning in KS2
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with the child
  • Commitment to the full academic year
