Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD are seeking an SEN Teacher for a secondary special school in Tameside, starting September 2026. The role involves delivering differentiated lessons to pupils with autism and other complex needs, in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Ideal candidates will hold QTS or equivalent and have SEN teaching experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills. A collaborative approach with assistants and therapists is essential to support every learner.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
• Ability to adapt teaching for Down syndrome and other additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for individual learning needs.
• Teach and support secondary pupils with SEN, including autism and communication needs.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom where each student can thrive.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate progress while adapting strategies to maximise learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
