Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic secondary special school in Tameside, seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join for the full academic year from September 2026.

The role involves teaching secondary pupils with autism and communication needs, delivering differentiated lessons, and working with TAs and therapists to support pupil progress. A compassionate approach and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse SEN needs, including autism.
• Patient, resilient and collaborative.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Teach and support secondary pupils with SEN, including autism and communication needs.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom where every pupil thrives.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and staff to support progress.
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies to maximise learning outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
