Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a secondary special school in Tameside, starting September 2026 for the full academic year.

You will teach secondary-aged pupils with autism and communication needs, delivering differentiated lessons and collaborating with TAs, therapists and other professionals to support pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs.
• Understands how to adapt teaching for Down syndrome and other needs.

• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach and support secondary pupils with a range of SEN, including Down syndrome and complex needs.
• Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every student can thrive.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support pupil progress.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate individual achievements while adapting strategies to maximise learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to ensure best possible support.
