SEN Maths / IT Teacher - College Setting (Southport)

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: M6 Spine Point (or equivalent daily rate: 200–260 per day)
Location: Southport

Are you a dedicated and passionate Maths or IT Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact within a specialist SEN college environment in Southport? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Maths / IT Teacher to join an outstanding specialist college provision supporting learners with special educational needs and learning disabilities. This inclusive and nurturing setting delivers bespoke, vocationally focused and academic curricula, tailored to meet the individual needs, abilities, and aspirations of each learner.

With excellent facilities, small class sizes, and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, the college provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging and accessible Maths and/or IT lessons, supporting learners' academic progress alongside their social, emotional, and life-skills development.

The Successful Candidate Will:
  • Be an effective and reflective classroom practitioner, able to teach Maths and/or IT across a range of abilities
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse SEN needs, including personalised and differentiated learning
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive education and learner-centred practice
  • Support students' preparation for adulthood, employability, and further learning
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and external agencies
  • Contribute to a collaborative staff team with a shared focus on wellbeing, progress, and aspiration
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialism in Maths, IT, or Computing
  • An enthusiastic, flexible, and creative approach to teaching
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and learner welfare
  • A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

Previous experience within an SEN or FE college setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from teachers who are passionate about inclusive education and keen to develop their skills within a specialist provision.
