Job summary

Norton College is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to deliver tailored learning for pupils with additional needs in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualified with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree are required. The role involves developing IEPs, collaborating with families and external professionals, and ensuring progress for each pupil. Starts October 2026, 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm.

• Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
• Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

What You'll Be Doing

• Planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.
• Adapting teaching approaches to support pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.
• Monitoring, assessing and celebrating pupil progress, ensuring every learner reaches their potential.
• Developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Creating a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel valued and supported.
• Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

About You

Qualified with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree required. Passionate about SEND education and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Experienced in supporting children and young people with additional needs, including Autism and complex learning profiles. Patient, resilient and nurturing, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships. Creative and adaptable, able to tailor learning to suit individual strengths and needs. A strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
