Job summary

Papworth Hall School is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to deliver personalised lessons for pupils with complex needs in a specialist environment. You will collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team to support independence, confidence and a love of learning.

Experience with SEN/SEMH, a QTS or equivalent, and a strong commitment to safeguarding are essential. The role is permanent, term-time, with a start in November 2026 and a salary up to £42,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH or complex needs.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs and to develop IEPs.

What You'll Do

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that inspire pupils and enable them to achieve meaningful progress.
• Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs, supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally.
• Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and personalised learning pathways.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning.
• Promote positive behaviour through nurturing, relationship-based approaches that build confidence and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, holistic support.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and able to succeed.
• Champion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, ensuring every child has the opportunity to flourish.

What We're Looking For

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH or complex needs.
• Is creative, patient and adaptable, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
• Is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential.
• Thrives as part of a collaborative team and is keen to continue developing professionally.
• Full UK driving licence.

Papworth Hall School is in the picturesque village in Cambridgeshire. It is within close proximity to Huntingdon and Cambridge. Our new specialist school caters for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs and has the capacity for 30 students.
