Overview

We are currently recruiting SEND Teachers to join a specialist SEN school based in the Oldbury area, supporting primary-aged pupils from 4 to 11 years old. In this role, you will work with children with a variety of needs, including SLD and ASD, helping to promote engagement, development, and confidence in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The school is housed in a purpose-built facility with excellent resources, including music and drama studios, white and dark room studios, a soft play area, a sensory room, swimming and hydrotherapy pools, and dedicated outdoor play spaces designed to meet the needs of different ages and abilities.

We are looking for experienced and dedicated teachers to join a dynamic SEN setting. In this role, you will deliver high-quality education across secondary classes, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, complex learning difficulties, SLD, and PMLD. You will work within school policies and teaching standards, helping pupils who may present with challenging behaviours or be working below age-related expectations. Your role will involve promoting emotional regulation, encouraging positive engagement, and establishing consistent, structured learning routines to support each pupil’s development. The SEN Teacher Role
  • Deliver inclusive lessons for pupils with SEND, including SLD, PMLD and complex needs.
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
  • Track progress and implement targeted interventions.
  • Create a nurturing, trauma-informed classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships and support behaviour regulation.
  • Work with TAs, SENCOs, parents and external agencies.
  • Manage support staff to maximise pupil outcomes.
  • Maintain safeguarding, records and contribute to EHCP reviews.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience in roles such as SENCo, ASD/SLD Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SLD and ASD
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • A nurturing, empathetic, and flexible teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
