Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Manchester is seeking a dedicated SEN Student Support Mentor to help children and young people access learning in specialist schools. This role supports pupils with ASC, MLD, SLD, SLCN and more, through 1:1 and small group work, alongside teachers.

Manchester | Full-Time & Part-Time Roles | September Start
Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Teaching Personnel is looking for caring and dedicated SEN Student Support Mentors to join specialist SEN schools across Manchester this September.

You'll support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Physical Disabilities, and Complex Needs.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Help students access learning and build independence
  • Support communication, social skills, and classroom engagement
  • Work closely with teachers and specialist staff
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or support work are welcomed
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
