Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Trafford is seeking a Learning Support Mentor to support pupils aged 3-16 with a range of SEN. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support to help learners access the curriculum, build independence and confidence, and achieve individual goals.

Learning Support Mentor (SEN)
Trafford | Full-Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start | Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Learning Support Mentor for a specialist SEN school in Trafford supporting pupils aged 3-16 with a range of needs including Autism, SEMH, Speech Language and Communication Needs, Specific Learning Disabilities. Moderate Learning Disabilities, Severe Learning Disabilities, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI), and Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI).

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them access learning, develop independence, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide classroom, 1:1, and small-group support.
  • Support pupils with complex SEN needs.
  • Assist with communication, social, and emotional development.
  • Implement personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
  • Support with personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to promote pupil progress.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Confidence supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Comfortable providing personal care.
  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
