Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a SEN Learning & Inclusion Mentor to join a specialist secondary provision in Salford, supporting students aged 11-19 with ASC, PMLD and SLD. The role focuses on helping pupils access learning, build confidence and independence.

The position is full-time, term-time only, with immediate start and opportunities for ongoing vacancies. You’ll work with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver personalised education pathways in a purpose-built environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children/young people with SEN.
• Experience with ASC, PMLD, SLD or complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for students with ASC, PMLD, and SLD.

• Adapt learning activities to meet individual EHCP targets.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a SEN Learning & Inclusion Mentor to join a highly respected specialist secondary provision supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The Role

As a SEN Learning & Inclusion Mentor, you will support pupils both academically and socially, helping them access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and celebrate every achievement along the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for students with ASC, PMLD, and SLD.
• Assist pupils with communication, sensory regulation, and personalised learning activities.
• Support students with personal care where required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Have knowledge or experience supporting ASC, PMLD, SLD, or complex needs.
• Be patient, resilient, and genuinely passionate about SEND education.
• Be confident building positive relationships with students and staff.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Be comfortable supporting personal care when needed.
• Hold relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Health & Social Care, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
