Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate SEN Inclusion Support Mentor to join a specialist school in the Trafford area. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils aged 2-19 with ASC, SLD, PMLD and SLCN, helping them access learning and develop confidence.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with safeguarding training and a pathway into long-term opportunities. A proactive, collaborative approach with teachers and therapists is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in education, care, youth work, support work or similar settings.
• Genuine interest in SEND and inclusive education.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support students during classroom learning, intervention sessions, and enrichment activities.
• Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can engage fully in school life.
• Assist with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and behavioural development.
• Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Encourage independence, confidence and self-esteem.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to deliver outstanding support.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to support engagement and learning.
• Assist pupils with personal care where required.
• Record observations and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times.

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated SEN Inclusion Support Mentor to join a highly respected specialist school in the Trafford area. This outstanding provision supports children and young people aged 2-19 with a wide range of complex needs and is known for its inclusive ethos, exceptional facilities, and commitment to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.

The school supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), physical disabilities, sensory impairments, complex medical needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing, engaging, and highly personalised learning environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and lifelong learning abilities.
