Job summary

Educato Limited is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a school in Prestwich, starting September on a long-term basis until the end of the academic year. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence.

You will work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, supporting communication, social and emotional development, and collaborating with the school

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in SEN settings.
  • Patience, compassion, and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to pupil needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Support pupils to access and engage with classroom learning.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils’ communication, social and emotional development.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation where required.
  • Help implement individual support plans and EHCP targets.
  • Encourage independence and positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the school team.
  • Support pupils throughout the school day, including breaks and lunchtimes.

SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Prestwich Contract: Long-term, ongoing Full time/Part time: Full time Pay: £102-£115 per day Start date: September 2026 Expected End date: End of the academic year Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm A welcoming school in Prestwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term, ongoing basis until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will provide valuable support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop their confidence and make progress both academically and socially.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities:
