Job summary

SENSE Learning is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide in-home and community-based mentoring and learning support. You will work one-to-one with young people, designing holistic sessions tailored to individual needs and building confidence and key life skills.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, safeguarding, and flexible scheduling with families and schools across the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, trauma).
• Enhanced DBS clearance or ability to obtain one; 2+ professional references.
• Based in the UK with the right to work, including for remote/online tutoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative, interest-based activities.
• Help develop life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed, flexible strategies to support diverse needs and track progress.
