Job summary

SENse Learning in Andover is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support in homes and community settings. You will work with learners who have complex needs, tailoring sessions to their interests and goals.

A background in care or education is valued, with at least two years' experience and safeguarding awareness. We offer flexible hours, self-employed engagement, and a supportive team that guides you through safer recruitment and professional

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
• Background in roles such as Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or related care/education fields.
• Ability to work in a child-centred, holistic way with creative curriculum adaptations.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for diverse needs.
• Model and encourage emotional regulation and feedback progress to carers or schools.
• Contribute to safeguarding and create a safe learning environment.
