Job summary

SENse Learning in Andover is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for SEND learners across several specialisms. You will work as an Education Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Education Mentor in homes, schools, and community settings with flexible hours.

Roles range from part-time to full-time, with arrangements to suit the schedule of clients and schools. DBS checks and references are part of the safer recruitment process.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches to support learning.
• Ability to support life skills, confidence and independence in learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Use flexible strategies to support a wide range of additional needs.
• Support emotional regulation and model coping strategies.
• Provide feedback and reflect progress to adapt support.
