Job summary

Copper Fields School in Gunnislake, Cornwall, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs. You will work with teachers to deliver personalised learning and help students engage, build independence and confidence.

Experience in SEN is welcomed; the role emphasises safeguarding, consistency and nurturing relationships to enable meaningful progress for every learner.

• Experience with SEN education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group support, helping young people access learning and work towards their individual goals.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and personalised learning experiences that meet a range of additional needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships that encourage confidence, participation and independence.
• Support social, emotional and behavioural development using calm, consistent and nurturing approaches.
• Contribute to individual education and support plans, monitoring progress and sharing observations with colleagues.
• Prepare resources and activities that encourage curiosity and engagement.
• Support educational visits, enrichment activities and wider learning opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
