Job summary

Cornfield School in Littlehampton invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant to help students overcome learning barriers and reach their potential. You will work with teachers and pastoral staff to support engagement, confidence and independence both in and out of the classroom.

The role requires patience, resilience and a genuine commitment to supporting boys with SEMH needs; recent SEN experience is advantageous and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
• Ability to support children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually and in small groups to overcome barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to build confidence, engagement and independence.
• Maintain a calm, safe environment and role model positive behaviour.
