Job summary

Copper Fields School in Gunnislake is seeking an experienced SEN teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive learning tailored to pupils with SEND. The role includes potential to take on a Subject Responsibility area, shaping curriculum across the school.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to create a safe, supportive learning environment where every pupil can achieve their best, with strong collaboration with families and therapists.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND or a strong commitment to specialist education.
• Ability to create inclusive, engaging learning environments.
• Deliver differentiated lessons for a wide range of needs.
• Strong relationships and emotional wellbeing support.
• Ability to lead or develop curriculum areas in future.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to pupils' needs and EHCP outcomes.
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to enable access to learning.
• Monitor progress and use evidence to inform future teaching.
• Create nurturing, structured environments promoting confidence and independence.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Collaborate with therapists, families and external professionals.
• Contribute to annual reviews, progress meetings and pupil reports.
• Participate in enrichment activities and school events.
