Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN HLTA to join a specialist SEN school in Rugby from September 2026. The role focuses on supporting pupils with diverse learning needs through targeted interventions and structured activities, enhancing both educational and pastoral outcomes.

The HLTA will lead lessons in the teacher’s absence, adapt materials to individual needs and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress and promote independence and confidence in students.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or substantial SEN support experience.
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEN.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a specialist educational environment.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions and structured learning activities.
• Provide classroom support and lead lessons in the absence of the teacher when required.
• Adapt resources and learning materials to meet individual pupil needs.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory and behavioural needs.
• Contribute to assessment, monitoring and reporting processes.
• Encourage pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
