Job summary

PK Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive, inclusive secondary school in Wolverhampton. You will work with teachers to deliver lessons and provide targeted support to pupils with a range of needs.

You will lead 1:1 and small-group activities, adapt resources for individual learners, and help monitor progress while promoting safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Understanding of inclusive teaching and learning practices.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN and disabilities.
• Deliver planned lessons and activities under supervision.
• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support.
• Adapt learning activities and resources for individual needs.
• Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN professionals to implement strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
• Take responsibility for classroom activities when needed.
