Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Classroom Assistant – Special Educational Needs to support pupils with SEND within a primary school setting. The role involves assisting with personal care, behavioural support, preparing learning resources and supervising activities, under the direction of the principal and class teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist with support and care of pupil(s) with special educational needs.
• Participate in implementation and evaluation of Education/ Care Plans.
• Promote pupil independence and inclusion in mainstream settings.
• Assist with moving pupils around school and transport.
• Provide supervision and support including administration of prescribed medicines where required.
