Portakabin Ltd in Sherburn-in-Elmet is seeking a Semi Skilled Operative to join our team at the Sherburn Hire Centre. You will contribute to refurbishment and fit-out of buildings, ensuring safety and quality across tasks and working with a collaborative team.

The role offers a permanent contract, with hours Monday to Thursday 7:45am–4:30pm and Friday 7:45am–3:30pm, and pay of £15.87 per hour plus overtime and potential merit uplift after probation.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational environments.
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs, RAMS and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment and materials.

• Maintain a safe, organised working environment.
• Follow technical instructions, RAMS and company procedures to work safely and to quality.

Role: Multi Skilled Operative
Hourly Rate: £15.87 per hour, overtime available and opportunity to earn additional merit of up to £4.38 following probation
Role based: Site Accommodation - Portakabin Ltd, Sherburn-in-Elmet Hire Centre

We are seeking Multi Skilled Operative to join our team in Sherburn-in-Elmet. These roles will play a critical part in carrying out refurbishment and fit-out of buildings; ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, supporting on-time and cost-effective delivery for customers.

In this role you will be required to:

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will:

• Maintain a safe, organised and compliant working environment, in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Follow technical instructions, RAMS and company procedures to complete work safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Carry out refurbishment and fit-out activities following technical specifications, SOPs, RAMS and company procedures, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Support colleagues by assisting with activities across the team, supporting activities outside own experience where qualified or experienced to do so.
• Contribute to team delivery by working collaboratively and escalating issues promptly where they cannot be resolved.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Experience gained in operational environments, working across a variety of semi-skilled activities.
• Practical skills are acquired through training and supervised application.
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment and materials, with experience of using them safely.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
