Job summary

Portakabin invites applications for a Multi Skilled Operative - Offsite based at the Aylesbury Hire Centre. The role focuses on refurbishment and fit-out of buildings, ensuring safety and quality while supporting on-time, cost-effective delivery. A UK driving licence and mobility across sites are required.

Hours are Mon-Thu 7:45–16:30 and Fri 7:45–15:30, with travel across London and Home Counties. A permanent position with a fixed bonus scheme and benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational environments with semi-skilled tasks.
• Practical skills gained through on-the-job training.
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment and materials and safe use.
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs, RAMS and related instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, organised, compliant work area.
• Follow SOPs, RAMS and procedures to work safely and to quality.
• Carry out refurbishment and fit-out activities per specs and SOPs.
• Support team by assisting on tasks and sharing knowledge.

Role: Multi Skilled Operative - Offsite

Hourly Rate: £15.87 per hour overtime available and opportunity to earn additional merit of up to £4.38 following probation

Role based: Portakabin Ltd, Alyesbury, HP18 0XB (driving licence required)

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:45am to 4:30pm, on Fridays from 7:45am to 3:30pm

Weekly travel covering London and surrounding boroughs and the Home Counties. Full UK Driving Licence Required - You will thrive off being on the road, going to customer sites.

We are seeking Multi Skilled Operative to join our team in based in Aylesbury.

These roles will play a critical part in carrying out refurbishment and fit-out of buildings; ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, supporting on-time and cost-effective delivery for customers.

In this role as Multi Skilled Operative, you will be required to:

• Maintain a safe, organised and compliant working environment, in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Follow technical instructions, RAMS and company procedures to complete work safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Carry out refurbishment and fit-out activities following technical specifications, SOPs, RAMS and company procedures, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Support colleagues by assisting with activities across the team, supporting activities outside own experience where qualified or experienced to do so.
• Contribute to team delivery by working collaboratively and escalating issues promptly where they cannot be resolved.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience gained in operational environments, working across a variety of semi-skilled activities.
• Practical skills are acquired through training and supervised application.
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment and materials, with experience of using them safely.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
