Job summary

Portakabin is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative based at London West Hire And Service Centre. You will join a team responsible for refurbishment and fit-out of buildings, ensuring workmanship meets safety and quality standards.

The role requires practical skills across semi-skilled trades, the ability to read SOPs, RAMS, and technical instructions, and a collaborative approach to meet project timelines. Monday-Thursday 7:45-16:30, Friday 7:45-15:30.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational environments across semi-skilled activities.
• Basic knowledge of tools and safe usage.
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs, RAMS and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment.
• Follow technical instructions, RAMS, and procedures to complete work safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Carry out refurbishment and fit-out activities following technical specifications, SOPs, RAMS and company procedures, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Support colleagues and assist with activities across the team where qualified.
• Contribute to team delivery by collaborating and escalating issues promptly.

Compensation: £15.87 / hour

Description

• Role: Multi Skilled Operative
• Hourly Rate: : £15.87 per hour + £1.38 per hour London Weighting and opportunity to earn merit rate of up to £4.38 per hour and overtime where available
• Role based: Portakabin Ltd, Hayes, UB3 1DY
• Contract type: Permanent
• Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:45am to 4:30pm, on Fridays from 7:45am to 3:30pm

We are seeking Multi Skilled Operative to join our team in based in Hayes.

These roles will play a critical part in carrying out refurbishment and fit-out of buildings; ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, supporting on-time and cost-effective delivery for customers.

In this role, as Multi Skilled Operative you will be required to:

• Maintain a safe, organised and compliant working environment, in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Follow technical instructions, RAMS and company procedures to complete work safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Carry out refurbishment and fit-out activities following technical specifications, SOPs, RAMS and company procedures, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
• Support colleagues by assisting with activities across the team, supporting activities outside own experience where qualified or experienced to do so.
• Contribute to team delivery by working collaboratively and escalating issues promptly where they cannot be resolved.

• Experience gained in operational environments, working across a variety of semi-skilled activities.
• Practical skills are acquired through training and supervised application.
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment and materials, with experience of using them safely.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
