Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Manchester. If you have experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional or social needs, you could be a great fit for our team.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group SEMH support, help with emotional regulation, and work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to foster safe, engaging learning environments. Immediate start opportunities available with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH in a school setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships and set boundaries.
• Good communication and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group SEMH support
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
• Helping children develop emotional regulation strategies
• Supporting pupils before, during and after challenging situations
• Implementing individual behaviour strategies
• Building trusting and consistent relationships
• Supporting classroom engagement
• Helping pupils manage transitions and unstructured periods
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Encouraging resilience, confidence and independence
