Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a SEND & SEMH Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Manchester. The role focuses on enabling pupils with additional needs to access learning, build confidence, independence and positive relationships.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, deliver interventions with the class teacher, support emotional wellbeing and behaviour, and work closely with staff and external professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience within a UK primary school (last 2 years).
  • SEND and/or SEMH experience.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive, nurturing, and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs.
  • Delivering intervention sessions alongside the class teacher.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour management.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals.
