Job summary

Inspire People seeks an experienced 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer in Farnborough to deliver secure digital solutions for UK Defence and National Security. The role covers onsite support five days a week, assisting mission-critical users in highly secure environments.

You will troubleshoot Microsoft stack issues, manage endpoints and user provisioning, and contribute to a secure, resilient IT service. Active SC or DV clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Windows 10/11 administration.
• Azure/Entra/AD administration.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Endpoint management.
• PowerShell scripting.
• End user device provisioning and onboarding.
• Understanding security concepts (MFA, Conditional Access).
• Atlassian ITSM tooling.
• Linux exposure (Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Must hold, or be eligible to work within, the highest level of UK Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support across secure environments.
• Respond to support tickets with timely resolution and updates to users.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and infrastructure issues; escalate to 3rd line as needed.
• Deliver desk-side and remote end-user support.
• Provision end-user devices and onboard new users.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Windows, Azure/Entra ID and Active Directory.
• Monitor system alerts and triage incidents.
• Maintain documentation and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Support incident management including major incident escalation.
• Assist with maintaining secure, reliable IT services in regulated environments.
• Travel to remote customer locations as required.
