Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Secondary and Post-16 Teaching Assistants to join a specialist secondary and sixth form school in Bury. You will support pupils aged 11-19 with complex needs across secondary and post-16 classes.

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with personalised learning programmes, and help pupils access the curriculum while promoting independence and social engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in a school, residential, or community setting.
• A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: 525- 700 per week (Dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across secondary and post-16 classes.


• Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes and ensuring pupils can access the curriculum effectively.


• Support the development of independence, life skills, and social engagement.

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK


• Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)


• Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
